The year that was 2011 & the $40 COMPETITION

It's funny where life takes you. I never would of thought a few years back that i would be married to an amazing man and have my very own darling cherub in my arms so soon.

Being at home with my bubba has meant i have had time to explore doing things i love such as sewing, cooking, creating, decorating and all the fun things that i was always too time poor to do when working full time. This lead to me launching my own little quaint store in the corner of cyberspace and it has been a lot of fun (and hardwork ;) doing so!

My dream is to be able to stay at home and raise my kidlets until they go to school and then i will have many years to focus on a career outside of home. So thanks for being part of making this small dream come true. It's been great meeting so many amazing people (even if it is just online) as having people support you in your vision is just a wee little bit exciting!

So here are a few things i have learnt this past year running my biz and in life in general ...

{1} when you put yourself out there and give your ideas a go, amazing things can happen.

{2} start small. network and grow organically. facebook likers do not equal friends or sales. build real online relationships with people who actually want to be part of your business

(3} let go of trying to perfect everything and worrying about how people will receive you. just get started, make mistakes, move on, learn and grow. it's all part of the fun

{4} be thankful for everything. we are so blessed to live in Australia. chances are you are in the top 0.1 richest people in the world. need convincing - check this out

{5} fabulous customer service is paramount!

{6} there is no right or wrong way to do things. gleen from the best and then take your own slant on things. be different and stand out from the crowd

{7} life isn't a rehersal. be real, follow your dreams and put things into action NOW

 { COMPETITION }

.......AND JUST BECAUSE I AM FEELING THE LOVE FROM YOU ALL I WOULD LOVE TO OFFER ONE LUCKY PERSON A $40 STORE VOUCHER.

*Please leave a comment below and tag your name on the Facebook competition image

If you want to i would love you to share something you have learnt in the past year or something you are thankful for ;-)

*Competition will close on the 17th January 2012. Winner will be drawn by random.org at 7.30pm AEST and announced on Facebook and here on the blog.

The Noob Guide, Online marketing 101!

I have come across this great little article, The NOOB Guide, it's mammoth actually, but well worth the read!

It is a six month marketing strategy for online businesses to go through so that they can gain maximum exposure My aim is to go through it month by month over the next 6. I would love to hear from anyone who is currently doing it or has completed it. If you are interested in chatting to me about it i would love to hear from you.

Essence of Kitsy

Kitsy aims to bring you items that adorn little girls and boys with a touch a beauty that is classic, simple, stunning and unique.

We believe that children deserve to be just that and should not dress beyond their years but should experience and be clothed in items that represent the carefree, fun and innocent nature that childhood embodies.

Our garments are all chosen with this view in mind.

The essence of Kitsy is captured beautifully in this poem by Gabriele Embry.

I look around, and everywhere I can see,

The beauty of God's Creation smiling back at me.

A precious baby with velvety soft skin,
Wiggling its tiny hands and feet,
On its face an adorable grin.

First morning dew on a pink rose;
A beautiful butterfly drawing to it close.

The sun's golden rays gently warming the ground;
Luscious plants covering the soil abound.

Humming birds singing high up in the tree;
White sand glistening in the turquoise sea.

Snow capped mountains, so majestically high;
A colorful rainbow adorning the afternoon sky.

Countless stars above, sparkling oh so bright,
Decorating the horizon and illuminating the night

Thank you, Dear Lord, for giving me another day,
To enjoy the beauty of Your Creation,
And to worship You and play.
